When I made my first storybook in 2012, I had no idea what I was doing. I didn't do ANY research, I made a ton of illustrations before I finalized the story, and I spent hours deliberating how to pull it all together. In the end, I spent HOURS (actually, months) of extra time working on that book.

And the worst part
After I launched it, my book fell flat
and almost no one bought it!!!

Luckily, that did not dissuade me. Since that first failed book launch over a decade ago, I have simplified my process, learned how to effectively hype my storybooks, and have shared my stories with kids around the world! At this point, I have 4 storybooks, 2 coloring books, and several other publications that are generating monthly passive income.
